Super Smash Bros. Brawl is almost here in the states, and by now I am sure everyone has seen the full roster. Be it with or against their will, they've seen it. Some laugh, some cheered, some cried and then there were some were emotionless pricks.
Then there is people like me, excited about Brawl to no end, at the time time and breath, not at all looking forward to it. Why? Can't really explain, perhaps it is a lot of things all balled into one. Though being totally satisfied by the number of newcomers and total roster, I also feel left out in the cold for the fact my favorite character(s) didn't even make a second glance to become playable. Though I am glad to see further changing of what were claimed as "clones" in Melee, some didn't step far out of the shadows of the previous character. Though third party guest characters have been made into the game, at the same time felt like there was something missing.
Of course, everyone has their fantasy rosters for Smash Bros. and hell, some of them look like some mutated sexual representation of what happens when you go full boar into a steel brick wall naked while launched out of of a cannon from a jet already going 585 mph. That's neither here nor there. I, just like everyone else who is a fan of Smash Bros. has their roster, and I try my hardest to not get carried away, 50 is a reasonable number total and I plan to see it in the future of Smash.
I had some reasonable choice that the wonderful team of Nintendo should have put in there, hell it was only three choices:
- Ray Mk/01
- Krystal
- Andy
Any of them (playable of course) would be the cream to my crop, the float to my boat, and so on. Sadly, only one of them has appeared, and it's a communicator conversation. Shame.
Ah well, I suppose that is the way it goes, and I ain't truly complaining. The game in of itself is epic, and there probably isn't much more to add as far as this one goes that would overshadow the next. Yes, I said next Smash Bros, Nintendo ain't going to let a franchise about franchises, the epitome of fan service, die like that. It screams sales, so it screams sequels. That, for the fan, is a good thing.
In conclusion, Smash Bros. 4 can and will happen, and it will be amazing. I just hope to use my favorite robotic toy as a playable character the next time. Ray just screams to kick someone's ass.
If not, I can always be over-hopeful and pray for Earthworm Jim.
See you all on the battlefield,
